Northants Litter Wombles: The Inspiring Group Leading the Charge for a Cleaner Planet!

Nicola Elliot and the Northants Litter Wombles are making a real difference in their community by picking up litter and encouraging others to do the same. Their commitment to the environment has inspired people of all ages, making them one of the most respected litter-picking groups in the country.

Since its establishment in early 2021, the Northants Litter Wombles have grown to over 3,000 members across Northamptonshire, collecting more than 50,000 bags of rubbish in just under two years. They have gone beyond simply picking up litter, however, by inspiring children to take responsibility for the planet.

Through special assemblies in about 20 primary schools, the Northants Litter Wombles have recruited younger members, reaching over 6,000 children so far. By spreading the message of environmental responsibility and inspiring children to take action, they are making a real difference for future generations.
